Linda M. Oliva
Linda M. Oliva, Esq. has been representing plaintiffs in medical negligence cases for over 35 years. She handles all aspects of pretrial litigation and appeals representing patients in cases involving birth injury, surgical, neurosurgical, cardiac, and women’s health care negligence including the failure to diagnose and treat breast cancer. Ms. Oliva is passionate about the law and about aggressively representing her clients that have been wrongly injured by the negligence of medical providers. She also realizes the importance of being compassionate to her clients and listening to their needs and concerns as they cope with the difficulties of dealing with the complications of personal injuries sustained by themselves and/or their loved ones.
Ms. Oliva is a Past President of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association (NCWBA) and a past Chair of the Networking Luncheon Committee. She is on the Board of Directors of the Columbian Lawyers Association of Nassau County and the Nassau County Women’s Bar Foundation. She is also a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers’ Association, the American Association for Justice and the Nassau County Bar Association.
She has dedicated considerable time to community services and participated in many community events as a key advocate for patient awareness. She was involved with several organizations that support breast cancer research, awareness, and patient support, including the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition. She is a past member of the Adelphi Breast Cancer Hotline’s Creative Cups Dinner Committee, was past co-chair of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Foundation’s Golf Outing Committee which raises money for breast cancer research and awareness and has been on the Gala Committee for the Safe Center which helps victims of domestic violence.
Ms. Oliva has received numerous awards for her legal acumen and commitment to the profession. In 2017, she received the “Commitment to Women in Law Leadership Award” by Hofstra University School of Law’s Center for Children, Families and the Law. In 2016, she was named an Outstanding Woman in Law by Hofstra University School of Law’s Center for Children, Families and the Law. From 2014 to 2018 and from 2021 to 2023, she was named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list, being among only 5% of all attorneys to make this list of peer recognition and professional achievement. In 2012, she was featured in the Long Island Business News’ “Who’s Who in Women in Professional Services.” In 2011, she was the Nassau County Women’s Bar Foundation’s Courage Award recipient.
